The Corporate Accountant will be confident and extremely organized in order to succeed in this everchanging, fast-paced role. Responsibilities and Duties: Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Reporting and Administration, the Corporate Accountant will serve as the subject matter expert in payroll processing, payroll taxes, commodity tax filings, and accounting for corporate entities. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for all reconciliations and reports for corporate entities and for managing payroll and benefits for the organization. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following functions: Preparation and processing various aspects of payroll on a bi-weekly basis for >50 employees Verification and reconciliation of bi-weekly payroll to ADP Management of deductions and remittances Maintenance of employee records Communication with employees concerning payroll and benefits matters Administration of employee benefits Excise tax preparations, reconciliations and filings Administration of banking for various entities first point of contact with the bank, responsible for set up of new bank accounts, etc. Preparation and processing of banking transactions for pre-authorized payments, electronic funds transfers and wires Certain aspects of accounting for corporate entities including analysis of accounts receivable and payables, processing of all payables in paperless system, monthly bank reconciliations, and general ledger analysis Preparation of an annual budget for corporate general and administrative expenses and payroll along with subsequent variance analysis Working paper support for corporate entity financial statements Qualifications and Requirements: University or College Diploma in Accounting Professional designation from the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills Proven problem-solving skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite High level of attention to detail and accuracy Ability to respond to intensive workloads Plaza Retail REIT offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including: Health and dental benefit plan Gym membership sharing plan Restricted share unit plan Annual reviews with potential for raise and bonus Thank you for applying, only those selected for screening will be contacted.
